“Dave was my uncle. I have fond memories of him taking myself and my siblings to the Brookfield Zoo when we were kids. Dave suffered for years with untreated mental illness and was not helped by the attitudes of some family members- whose interactions with him and attitudes of him were reminiscent of those held in the Middle Ages. I would visit him occasionally at the nursing home sometimes bringing him treats and telling him that I appreciated him. I miss him.”
