He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley Cherwin and Mary Catherine Cherwin (Cullenbine); his son Peter Cherwin; and his siblings, Bill Cherwin, Tim Cherwin and Beth Cherwin.

He is survived by: his children, Tom Cherwin (Kelly) and Dawn Bigbee (TJ); his daughter-in-law Jennifer; his grandchildren, Liam and Ava; his siblings, Mary Pat Esposito (Ron) and Frank Cherwin; and his pets, Rhonda Cherwin, Digby Bigbee and Bernie Bigbee. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
