He was predeceased by: his parents, Edmund Joseph Metz and Barbara Marie Mueller; his wife Alma Jean Metz (Wisehart); his brothers, Edmund and James; his sisters-in-law, Marjorie Romine and Janet Wisehart; his daughter-in-law Carolyn Sue Metz; his nephews, Dennis Metz and Lloyd Phelps Jr.; his niece Pamela Romine; and his great-niece Karen Metz Cooney.
