He was predeceased by: his parents, Pierre Shafer and Blanche Shafer (Popelka). He is survived by: his wife Sharon (Sebers); his brother Edwin; his sons, Erik, Greg and Ben; his grandchildren, Charlotte, Logan, Rylee, Jessica, Taylor, Evan and Gavin; and his great grandchildren, Liam, Haven and Finley. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
