He was predeceased by: his parents, Milton Gunderson and Esther Gunderson (Terry); his wife Dorothy Hanson; his son Brian; and his brothers, Graham, Wayne and Keith.

He is survived by: his children, Kim O'Toole (Tim) of Naperville, IL and Kraig Gunderson (Debby) of Edwardsville, IL; his grandchildren, Matt O'Toole (Julia), Dan O'Toole (Beth), Brian and Krissy Gunderson; his great grandchildren, Leo, Lily, Arden and Rosie O'Toole; and his sisters, Mary Leach of Sandwich, IL and Pat Peterson (Dave) of Peoria, IL. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Alden Gardens Assisted Living in Aurora, IL or Leland American Legion.
