He was predeceased by: his parents, Pedro Herrera and Margarita Herrera (Gallegos); his wife Maria; and his son Jose Manuel Herrera. He is survived by: his children, Estela Esparza (Oscar), Roberto Herrera (Fabiola), Dora Favela, Socorro "Elizabeth" Gutierrez (Pablo), Mayra Herrera and Peter Herrera (Angelly). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild and several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
