Marilyn J. Slusarczyk Obituary
Marilyn J. Slusarczyk (née Sanders), age 71, a resident of Aurora, IL since 1996, former longtime resident of Downers Grove, IL, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at her home. She was born on January 19, 1955, in Downers Grove, IL.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Marilyn Slusarczyk.
Marilyn is reunited in death with her beloved son, Matthew Slusarczyk, and also with her parents, William and Rita Sanders. While our hearts are broken by her loss, we find comfort in knowing she and Matthew are together again.
She is survived by her loving children and their spouses, Travis and Ellen Sanders and Kristen and Jordan Decker; her cherished grandchildren, William and Jackson Sanders and Oliver and Maddox Decker; her siblings, Carolyn Sanders, Gerald Sanders, Lorraine Kregel, Steven Sanders, and Patrick Sanders; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
Marilyn found joy in gardening and music, had a special love for animals, and, above all, treasured her family. She will be remembered for her kind heart, quiet strength, and the unconditional love she gave so freely to those around her.
Though she is no longer with us, her love, laughter, and the memories she created will remain in our hearts forever.
A visitation will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026, 4:00-8:00 PM at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville, IL 60540.
An additional visitation will be held on Saturday, August 1, 9:30-10:30 AM at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 701 S. Eola Rd, Aurora, Illinois 60504, (630) 851-3444.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow Saturday, 10:30 AM in the church.
Interment will be private.
The family invites those who wish to honor Marilyn's memory to consider making a donation to Chicago Rescue Authority, a local dog rescue organization. This tribute reflects a cause that was especially close to her heart.
