She was predeceased by: her parents, Eli Hodges and Ann Hodges (Hudspeth); her husband Henry Cowherd Jr.; her son Rodrick Cowherd; her siblings, James Hodges, Mildred Cooper, Barbara, Skinner, Myra Hodges, Margaret Smith, Ann Cole and Carrie Hammond; and her siblings-in-law, Barbara Johnson and Leon Johnson.
She is survived by: her children, Brenda Banks (Rufus) of Naperville, IL., James "Michael" Cowherd (Ricardo) of Denver, CO. and Roderick "Rod" Cowherd (Becky); her grandchild Shelley (Rodney); her great grandchildren, Bradyn, Brycen Johnson, Kaia, Teagan Banks, Rima, Lailani and Kenya Cowherd; her nephews, Ronell Johnson (Sherri) of Dallas, TX and Brandon Johnson (Jessica) of Dallas, TX; and her close friends, Shea Brim, Maude Shackelford, Sue Ackley, Tom and Bette Harris.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
