He was predeceased by: his father Thomas Nelson; his siblings, Frank Nelson and Sandra Hunt (Sandy); and his children, Karl, Daniel and Kizzie.
He is survived by: the mother of his children Patricia Nelson; his girlfriend Louise Cox (Cox Family); his children, April Niemeyer (Matthew) of Temecula, CA, Erik Nelson (Melody) of Casa Grande, AZ, Tabitha Nelson (Mark) of Sycamore, IL, Matthew Nelson of Aurora, IL and Rebecca Nelson of Aurora, IL; and his great grandchildren, Javon Burnett, Justin, Jayson Niemeyer, Brianna Huebner, Kizzie (RJ), Erik Jr., Keith, Evilyn Nelson, Michael Wonderly, Bethanie Nelson, Saleena Nelson, Christopher Carter and Caleb Alexander. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren.
