She is survived by : her children, Cesilia Varela, Abel Varela (Samantha Gonzalez), Sonia Wennmacher (Chris), Yesenia Varela and Ancelma Varela; and her siblings, Pola, Flora, Jesus and Conso. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
