Sung leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Sung’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Sung will carry forward his memory in their hearts.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Sahoon Kim and Myungsun Kim. He is survived by: his daughter Nicole Atkins; his son-in-law Jeff Atkins; and his grandson Remi Atkins. He is also survived by two brothers, two sisters, many nieces and nephews, and dear friends.
Viewing was held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of Korean Martyrs (224 Bruce Road, Lockport, IL 60441). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location. Visitation was held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Homes & Crematory - South Naperville (24021 Royal Worlington Dr, Naperville, IL 60564). The military honors was held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 6:30 PM at the same location.
