With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Wilma Ruth Cross of Ava, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 30, 2025 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William S. Popejoy and Ada Jane Smith Popejoy; her husband Willard Allen Cross; her siblings, Jim, William Wayne "Bud" Popejoy, Mary Jane Guy, Betty Cline, Sally Sarenson, Barbara Sue Young, Donna Searcy and Vera Cross; and her sons-in-law, Scott Hunter and Joe Reiman.
She is survived by: her children, Mike Cross (Deb) of Ava, Roger Cross (Wanda) of Ava, Larry Cross (Kim) of Ava, Gary Cross of Ava, Regina Reiman of Murphysboro, Ruth Smith (Joe Dean) of Ava, Susan Wanless (Roy) of Ava and JoAnn Hunter (Tim Davis) of Steeleville. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to St. Jude's.
