She was predeceased by: her husband Joseph Whelan; her parents, John McCarthy (I. Award) and Veronica McCarthy; her son-in-law Kevin Patrick McGinnis; her children, Mary Jane McGinnis and Roger Joseph Whelan; her brother Floyd McCarthy; her half-brothers, Roland Strodt, Clement, William, Daniel and Sylvester McCarthy; and her stepsisters, Catherine Kalmer, Matilda Jaidie and Mamie Bierline.
She is survived by: her daughter Kathleen Ann Eichelberger (Timothy) of Swansea, IL; her grandchildren, Christopher Kyle McGinnis, Meghan Catherine McGinnis Biekert (Thaddeus) and Natalie Jo Bachmann (Christopher); and her great grandchildren, Madison Nicole McGinnis, Emma Grace McGinnis, Peyton Aubrey Biekert and Weston Patrick Biekert. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 23rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church (204 W Mill St, Waterloo, IL 62298). A burial was held on Tuesday, September 23rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
