With sadness, we share the passing of Duane Michael Hartwig (Barrington, Illinois). Duane, born on September 12, 1960, passed away on September 4, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Hazel Hartwig and Norman Hartwig; his brother Norman Keith; and his sister-in-law Tammie Hartwig. He is survived by: his wife Judith; his children, Jessica Rostan (Michael), Elizabeth Hoff (Thomas), Stephanie Conte (Arturo) and Rodger Sutek; his grandchildren, Johanna Rostan, Gianna Conte, William Sutek, Elenor Sutek and Baby Conte; and his siblings, Linda Hartwig Lanning, Gerald Hartwig (Christy), Beverly Crylen (Robert), Pam Hartwig, Thomas Hartwig (Victoria) and Mary Turner (Brent). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Matthew Lutheran Church (720 Dundee Ave, Barrington, IL 60010). A burial was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at the Evergreen Cemetery (610 S Dundee Ave, Barrington, IL 60010).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Duane's honor to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation or the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America.
