He was predeceased by: his parents, James and Lena; his friend Nathan P. DeMichele; his wife Mary Ann; his grandchild Kendall Maffia; and his sibling Camille McDowell (late James).
He is survived by: his children, Suzanne Maffia, Jim Maffia (Kim Bliss) and John Maffia (Sheri); and his grandchildren, McKenzie Ohler (Ethan), Halle Maffia and JT Maffia.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the St. Anne Church (120 Ela St, Barrington, IL 60010). A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location. The inurnment will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 at 2:30 PM at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery (20953 W Hoff Rd, Elwood, IL 60421).
