He was predeceased by: his parents, Walfred Westerlund and Catherine Westerlund; his wife Shirley Westerlund; and his brothers, Charles, Richard and Ronald Westerlund.
He is survived by: his daughters, Pamela Oeser (Tommy) of Sarasota, FL and Linda Shaaban (Ahmed) of South Barrington; his grandchildren, Nadia and Noah Shaaban; and his sister Carol Ziegeldorf.
The military honors will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Windridge Memorial Park (7014 S Rawson Bridge Rd, Cary, IL 60013). Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Davenport Family Funeral Homes and Crematory – Barrington (149 W Main St, Barrington, IL 60010). A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory (149 W Main St, Barrington, IL 60010).
