It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Steven John Chmiel of Barrington, Illinois, who passed away on November 1, 2025, at the age of 59, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He is survived by: his wife Rafaela; his daughter Bella; his former wife Susan; his sons, Benjamin and Brian; his stepchildren, Karen Alonzo and Rigo Yanez; his parents, Wayne Chmiel and Lynn Chmiel; and his brothers, Wayne (Liz) and Daniel. He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, November 7th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Friday, November 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Messiah Lutheran Church (25225 W Ivanhoe Rd, Wauconda, IL 60084).
