He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Bergmann and Anna B. Schmitt Bergmann; his son Gregory F. Bergmann; his sister Anna M. Leonard; and his sisters-in-law, Vivian Bergmann and Yvonne Zachry.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Marie Zachry; his children, Michael T. Bergmann (Ann) of Freeburg, Anthony J. Bergmann (Michelle) of Bartelso, Julie McLain of East Alton, Angela Franke (Jeff) of Belleville and Andrew Bergmann (Deanne) of New Athens; his daughter-in-law Jane Bergmann of Belleville; his grandchildren, Allison Reichert (Scott), Aaron Bergmann (Kandyce), Kerry Menn (Billy), Nick Bergmann, Trevor Bergmann (Kate), Amanda Fritz (Brandon), Tyler Bergmann and Duncan McLain (Cassady); and his brother Frank W. Bergmann of Belleville. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers or other gifts, the family suggests memorial donations in George's memory to the St. Mary's Church Building Fund.
