Penelope Behrens Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Penelope Behrens of Bartelso, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 24, 2025 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Benard Schlott and Sylvia Schlott (Davenport); her son David Behrens; and her siblings, William Schlott and Dawn Buck.
She is survived by: her daughter Penny; her husband Benjamin Behrens; her children, Daniel Behrens (Svetlana), Jonathan Behrens (Heather), Sarah Pingsterhaus (Mark) and Liz Norrenberns (Chris); her grandchildren, Sophia, Daniel Behrens, Katsiryna Prakharenka, Jani Hanner (Brett), Brooks Behrens, Reagan, Bailey Pingsterhaus, Scarlett, Samuel, Rylee and Bensen Norrenberns; and her siblings, Kenneth Schlott (Phyllis), Dennis Schlott (Sharon) and Sandra Lee. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 29th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church (751 Franklin St, Carlyle, IL 62231). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 29th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the First United Methodist Church or Clinton County Senior Services Meals on Wheels.
