He was predeceased by : his parents, Chester and Evelyn Sholl (Allen); his siblings, Robert Sholl and Patricia Roth; and his nephew Kenny Roth.

He is survived by : his wife Linda; his children, John Sholl, Joseph Sholl (Corella), Melissa Sholl and Matt Sholl; and his siblings, Janet Yeatts (Tom), Yvonne Burney and Ronnie Garrard (Tina). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.

Stan Meinert wrote a sympathy message

“I am so sorry for your loss. Ivan will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. I worked with Ivan at Caterpillar and he always had a way to brighten everyone's day. He had a bright cheery attitude that was uplifting to others around him. Ivan grew up in the south end of Peoria the same as my dad and family and so we had many good conversations about growing up there and what it was like many years ago.”
