He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil R. Thurman and Lorene Thurman (Blake); his wife Virginia Wylie; his son-in-law Tim Martin; and his siblings, Anne Jackson, Clara Morrow, Lester Thurman, Eldon Thurman and Bob Thurman, Sr..

He is survived by: his children, Linda Bartlett (Norm), Loydd Thurman, Jr. (Susan), Debbie Martin and April Mitchell (David); his grandchildren, Mark Bartlett (Lisa), Bruce Bartlett, Tony Bartlett (Andrea), Jennifer Graham (Russ), Andy Thurman (Cassie), Aaron Thurman, Jim Martin (Jen), Kim Martin (Buck) and Joni Mitchell; his great grandchildren, Kari, Kori, Joey, Lucas, Emily, Nathan, Emma, Jacob, Adalynn, Finn, Cole, Haley, Isabella and Sophia; his sister Betty Winkler; and his siblings-in-law, Alma Kennedy, Dodie Smith (Lyle), Jim Wylie and Bert Wylie (Linda). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
