With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Robert Freeman Peterson of Batavia, Illinois, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Robert left this world on October 17, 2025 at the age of 95, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Arvid Peterson and Maude Peterson; his brother Harold Peterson; and his former wife Suzanne. He is survived by: his wife Sue; his children, Jeff Peterson (Barb), Beth Buss (Tim) and Joel Peterson (Shauna); his grandchildren, Tyler Buss (Lizzy), Emily Buss, Abby Peterson, Ryan Buss, Danny Peterson, Andy Peterson, Julia Peterson and Alex Peterson; and his great grandchild Amelia Buss. He is also survived by 9 nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Moss Family Funeral Home - Batavia (209 S Batavia Ave, Batavia, IL 60510). Throughout his life, he was also active in the American Legion Post 504, including as Commander for several years, the Batavia Historical Society, RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program), Meals on Wheels and the Hansen-Furnas Foundation.
