He was predeceased by: his parents, William Eugene Carner and Mary Louise Carner (Buttner); his in-laws, Paul and Marjorie Workman; and his grandson Gusty Kronenberger.

He is survived by: his wife Marjorie Lou Workman of Bertrand's Bowling Alley; his children, Wesley Carner (Karin) and Jennifer Kronenberger (Patrick); his grandchildren, Wyatt, Trever, Cody Kronenberger, Andra and William "Will" Carner; and his siblings, Elizabeth Wibright (Kevin), Donna Carner, Joyce Campbell (Ron), William "Bill" Carner and Stephen Krueger. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Lake Community Bible Church (43 W Grass Lake Rd, Lake Villa, IL 60046). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
