He was predeceased by : his parents, Clarence Roberts and Marietta Roberts; his wife Christine Kuhlmann; his siblings, Mylo G. Roberts, Dale E. Roberts and Jane Deckenbach; and his stepgranddaughter Tracy Chelette.

He is survived by : his children, Ann Chelette (Jess) of Beardstown, Don C. Roberts (Cathy) of Bloomington, Sue Walker (Richard) of Waukegan and Chris Mason (Keith) of Gurnee; his grandchildren, Laura Hawkins (John), Amy Wood (Chris), Heidi Cardinal (Matt), Angela Wolterstorff (Ryan), Jessica Moots (Andy), Jill Gaskell (Andrew), Kate Szczudlo (Steve), Joel Walker (Sara), Kevin Mason (Michelle) and Claire Mason (John Busse); his great grandchildren, Henry, Jameson, Lila and William Wood; and his grandchildren, Avery, Leo Cardinal, Ellery, Ryker Wolterstorff, Gavyn, Kai, Rhett, Isla Moots, Roydon, Vivian Gaskell, Mira, Jaxson, Zoe Szczudlo, Milo, Rose Walker and Ella Mason. He is also survived by his family, friends.

Memorials are suggested for the Beardstown Park District or the St. John's Yagow College Scholarship Fund.
