He was predeceased by: his parents, Alan Applegate and LaVerta Applegate; his brothers, Tom and Terry Applegate; and his brother-in-law Ronald "Bud" Carls.
He is survived by: his wife Georgia Drum of Paul's Cathedral; his children, Christina Stoker (Tressy Cobren) of Jacksonville, Jennifer Milby of Jacksonville, Erin Belville of Jacksonville and Anthony Applegate (Jana) of Jacksonville; his grandchildren, Michael Stoker (Aaron Hurley), Desiree Stoker and Haley Lyons (Blain); his great grandchildren, Michael Lyons and Colton Lyons; and his sister Sandra Carls of Beardstown. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
