She was predeceased by: her parents, William Henry and Ila Adeline Fritz Swan; her son Gary Hood; her close friend David Hill; and her brothers, Perry Swan (late Dorothy) and Charles Swan.
She is survived by: the father of her children Carl Hood of Chandlerville; her son Marty Hood (Debbie) of Arenzville; her grandchildren, C. J. Hood (Jenna) of Bluffs, Cole Hood of Rushville, Courtney Wood (Cole) of Eldorado, Corey Hood (Erica) of Ridgway and Ashley Hood (David Crook) of Arenzville; her great grandchildren, Zayda, Cayden, Liam, Hayden, Addison, Callie and Kaelor; her brother Henry Swan (Mary) of Savanna; and her nieces, Crystal, Tammy and Jodi.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Colwell Memorial (515 S State St, Beardstown, IL 62618). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
