With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Karen Ann Horton of Belle Rive, Illinois, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Karen Ann left this world on September 26, 2025 at the age of 82, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Colvin and Edna Colvin (Forth); her parents-in-law, Louise and Woodrow Horton; and her sister Willena Ross (Colvin).
She is survived by: her significant other Billy Horton; her children, Barry Horton (Gwen), Melissa Ramos (Orlando) and Randy Horton (Stephanie); her grandchildren, Elizabeth Wairimu (Kevin), Sarah Heern (Gavin), Ellen Ramos (Kegan Snodsmith), Osiris Ramos, Jackson Horton and Tucker Horton; and her great grandchildren, Selah Heern, Lottie Wairimu and Tuff Heern.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 29th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Newell Funeral Home (601 S 42nd St, Mt Vernon, IL 62864). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 30th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials may be made in Karen's honor to the Community of Christ Brush Creek Campground.
