With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Anna A. Brendel of Belleville, Illinois, who passed away on January 2, 2026 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John C. Fischer and Anna Fischer (Dagelmann); her husband Reverend Doctor Richard T. "Dick" Brendel; her brother Karl Fischer; and her siblings-in-law, Paul Brendel, Nina Brendel and Wilma Fischer.
She is survived by: her brother John Fischer of St. Louis, Missouri; her children, Martha Burris (Bruce) of Fishers, Elizabeth Brendel of Belleville, Richard P. Brendel of St. Louis and John Brendel (Ann) of San Antonio, Texas; her grandchildren, Brian Nelson (Jillian), Brett Nelson (Rachel), Jaimee Burris (Jenny), Kristina Crook (Colby), Mary Ellen Buehlhorn, Austin Brendel and Thomas J. Brendel; and her great grandchildren, Oliver, Piper, Michael, David, Jacob, Eliza, Fletcher, Kelsey, Carson, Haley and Olivia. She is also survived by nieces, nephews.
