She was predeceased by: her parents, Victor Zaiz and Mary Zaiz (Grivet); her former husband Norman Barthel; her husband Donald Swank; her brothers, Robert Zaiz and Jay Zaiz; and her grandson Chaz Barthel.

She is survived by: her children, Mark Barthel of Belleville, IL, Paul Barthel of St. Peters, MO and Laura Siverly (Tim) of Collinsville, IL; her grandchildren, Austin, Sierra, Ryan and Mariah; her great grandchildren, Paige, Jace, Ava and Algis; and her stepchildren, Vicky Parker (Danny) of Swansea, IL, Donald Swank Jr. of Caseyville, IL and Matt Swank (Tammy) of Belleville, IL. She is also survived by step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
