He was predeceased by: his wife Mary E.; his son James Borkowski; and his father Jacob (Antonia). He is survived by: his children, Chester L. Jr. Borkowski (Susie) of Swansea, IL and Christine Borkowski of Swansea, IL; his grandsons, Nicholas Borkowski (Natalie), Michael Borkowski (Brittney) and Bradley Borkowski (Britany); his great grandchildren, Olivia, Quinn, Ryker Borkowski, Lilly, Carter, Nash and Remi Borkowski; his brother-in-law James Pearce (Bonnie); his nephew Ron Borkowski (Cindy); and his nieces, Nancy Newport (Lou), Amy Richter (Marian Margean) and Kathy Scheff (Ted).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
