He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Gayden and Adell Gayden; his sister Barbara King; his son David Winters; and his grandson Raymond Green.
He is survived by: his sisters, Lee Alice Hammonds of Cahokia Heights, IL and Jean Gayden of Belleville, IL; his children, Jermaine Thomas of Belleville, IL., Charles King (Tracy), Donald Jeffries, Sr. (Marsette) and LaShawn Easley of Belleville, IL.; and his close friends, Lesa Huston and Sandy Lang. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, May 23rd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Greater Love Family Church (203 Elm Dr, Fairview Heights, IL 62208). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 24th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints Church (9827 Bunkum Rd, Fairview Heights, IL 62208).
