He was predeceased by: his son Joseph Adams; his father John Ed (Violet F.); and his sister Sandra J. Barksdale. He is survived by: his children, Melanie J. Chandler (Matt) of Crown Point, IN, Dan E. Adams of Belleville, IL, Kathryn E. Adams (Ben Sullivan) of Olathe, KS and Emily R. A. Casey (Tom) of Fairview Heights, IL; the mother of his children Jo Ann Bohnenstiehl (Tom); his granddaughters, Michaela Chandler, Gwendolynn Adams and Madilyn Casey; Jodey M. Adams of Belleville, IL..
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the George Renner & Sons Funeral Home (120 N Illinois St, Belleville, IL 62220). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to the Belleville YMCA.
