He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence P. Wiegers and Genevieve M. Wiegers; his brother Richard Wiegers; and his niece Colleen Nesbit. He is survived by: his wife Susan Wiegers; his children, Joshua Wiegers (Julia), Elizabeth Parrish (John Weaver), Matthew Wiegers (Amy), Gregory Wiegers (Jennifer) and Christopher Wiegers (Tiffany); his grandchildren, Madeline Keen (Austin), James Wiegers, Jackson Parrish, Peyton Parrish, Hannah Dudley (Kale), Abigail Wiegers (Ian King), Lainey Wiegers, Charlotte Wiegers, Lauren Wiegers and Catherine Wiegers; his great grandchildren, Genevieve Keen and Owen Dudley; and his siblings-in-law, Jacqueline Wiegers, Betty Jo Wiegers, Beth Ann Oesterle (Michael) and Timothy Nesbit (Catherine).
Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Peter's Cathedral Catholic Church (200 W Harrison St, Belleville, IL 62220).
Memorials may be made to the Cathedral Food Pantry, St. Vincent De Paul, or Hospice of Southern Illinois.
