He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Jefferson and Byda Lee Cox; and his siblings, Tommy Eugene Cox, Ernest Lee Cox, John Franklin Cox, Ilean Ehrhardt, Eleanor Calvert, Margaret Maxine Cox, Zoe Anne Cox and Joe Ann Cox.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Mae Cox of Belleville, IL; his children, Sue DeMond (Tom) of O'Fallon, IL, DeWayne Cox of Belleville, IL and Keith Cox (Kim) of Carbondale, IL; and his sisters, Peggy Lou Domerese and Patty Josephine Reese. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
