It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Douglas Carpenter of Belleville, Illinois, who passed away on June 18, 2025, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Carpenter (Doris) and Doris Carpenter; and his siblings, Leslie Shroba and Phil Carpenter. He is survived by: his significant other Helen Thompson; his daughter Sarah Larkin (Scott); his grandson Owen Larkin; his sister Fran Jones (Oscar); his siblings-in-law, Lisa Carpenter and Steve Shroba; and his friends, Brian and Joyce Smallwood.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois, Ducks Unlimited or the donor's choice.
