George Combs Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of George Combs (Belleville, Illinois), born in East Saint Louis, Illinois, who passed away on June 14, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father George (Lucille); his brothers, James Combs, Harold Combs (Helen), Donald Combs (Chika) and Kenneth Combs (Dee); and his sister-in-law Pat Combs.
He is survived by: his wife Janet Combs; his children, Rick Combs (Cathy), Nancy Thomas (David) and Laura Strebel (Mike); his grandchildren, Caitlin Hasse (Luke), Kyle Combs, Callie Phillips (Zak), Lauren Caudle, Drew Thomas, Brett and Brandon Strebel; his great grandchildren, Everett, Parker Hasse and Elliott Phillips; his brother Norman Combs; and his siblings-in-law, Jack Lopinot (Evelyn), Jerry Lopinot (Lori), Bob Lopinot (Tanya) and Connie DeCourcey (Sam). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church (1910 W Belle St, Belleville, IL 62226). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church, the American Heart Association, or the American Kidney Fund.
