We bid farewell to James David Mensing of Belleville, Illinois, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on June 8, 2025 at the age of 72. James David touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his father Eugene George (Betty Frances); his wife Cheryl Bertrand Mensing; his daughter Heather Deterding; and his siblings, Kenneth Mensing and Virginia Humphrey.
He is survived by: his daughter Kimberly Wachtel (Matt Crook) of Belleville; his sister Yvonne Hurckes (Bill) of East Peoria; his grandchildren, Ian Weber (Julie), Alexander Wachtel, Cory Jones, Taylor Deterding (Samantha Meserve) and Lainey Deterding (Brennan Fitzwater); his siblings-in-law, John Humphrey of Collinsville and Hoa Mensing of Belleville; and his stepdaughters, Sara Goldsmith and Laura Krejce (Audie). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to St. Jude Children's Hospital and will be accepted at the funeral home.
