He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Ann; his father Edmund Felix; and his siblings, Stanley, Leonard, George, Edmund, Thekla and Ida.

He is survived by: his children, Kevin Matychowiak (Lynn) of Belleville, IL and Angela Emke (Mark) of Belleville, IL; his grandchildren, Kimi Matychowiak, Kyle Matychowiak, Alex Matychowiak (Kristyn), Jacob Emke (Trista) and Nicholas Emke (Samantha); and his great grandchildren, Kenzie Emke and Colt Emke.

Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, or to St. Mary Catholic Church.
