Jane Ellen Willett Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jane Ellen Willett of Belleville, Illinois, who passed away on July 12, 2022 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Ovid Ruhmann and Peggy Ruhmann; and her brother Dr. Douglas Ruhmann (Patricia). She is survived by: her husband William "Bill" Edward Willett, Jr.; her children, Dr. Lynne Nowak (Edward) of Belleville, IL and Stephen Willett of Belleville, IL.; her granddaughters, Emily Jane and Sarah Elizabeth Nowak; her sister Lynne Midyett (Lin) of Clarkson Valley, MO; and her sister-in-law Patricia Ruhmann of Brentwood, MO. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and innumerable cherished friends and extended family.

Teaching was her passion, and she was still in the classroom part-time until the COVID pandemic forced her retirement in 2020.

Memorials: With grateful hearts, the family requests memorials be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois for the compassionate and loving care Jane received in her final weeks.
