He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Hines and Veronica "Bonnie" Hines (Frawley); his siblings, Richard, Arthur, Forest Hines and Priscilla McMillian; and his son-in-law Robert Palausky.

He is survived by: his wife Lala Hines (Campos); his children, Mark Hines (Joelle), Tina Palausky and Toni Sears (Matt); his grandchildren, Ryan Hines, Cole Hines, Luke Sears and Elsa Sears; his sister Patsy Brewer; his daughter-in-law Diana Palacios Riel; and his grandchild-in-law Malerie Ray Valerius.
