She was predeceased by: her parents, James and Della; the father of her children Lee Alton; her sisters-in-law, Mary Douglas and Barbra Anderson; her cousin Irene Cholewa; her nephew Ronnie Prohaska; her close friend Vince Callico; and her friend Melinda Mudd.

She is survived by: her children, James L. Alton of Belleville, IL and Cheri L. Ehret (Mark) of Belleville, IL; her grandchildren, Justin Nollau Jordan (Vikki Taylor), Mark Ehret (Becky), Julie Ehret (Megan) and Jenna Ehret Trotman (Teddy); her great grandchildren, Easton Nollau, Miles, Luke Ehret and Kendall Ehret; her cousins, Diana Clark, Donna Chappel and Shannon Ellet (Ron); and her sisters-in-law, Joann Forhan (Ron) and Carol Alton.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to the charity of the donor's choice.
