We announce the death of Julia Gehrs of Belleville, Illinois, born in East Saint Louis, Illinois, who passed away on August 15, 2026, at the age of 70. Julia will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her father James W. Bedwell, Jr.; her mother-in-law Mary Ann Gehrs; and her sister-in-law Lynne Bedwell. She is survived by: her husband Dr. James "Jim" Gehrs, Jr.; her children, James L. Gehrs II (Lauren Choate), Benjamin Gehrs and Meghan Dalton (Keith); her grandchildren, James B., Peter, Lucy, Helen and Gwendolyn; her mother Gloria Bedwell; her siblings, James W. Bedwell III, Kirk E. Bedwell, Tony S. Bedwell (Vicki) and Karen Fitzgerald (Art Voellinger); her father-in-law James B. Gehrs; and her sisters-in-law, Wendy Raetz (Dave) and Cindy Klein (Leonard). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
