We announce the death of Karen Lyons of Belleville, Illinois, born in White Hall, Illinois, who passed away on October 12, 2026, at the age of 78. Karen will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Donald E. Lyons; her parents, James Downing and Pansy Downing; her sisters, Beverly Young and Geri Stewart; and her brothers-in-law, Lee Stewart and Dale Adams.
She is survived by: her sons, Timothy Lyons (Lynn) and Gregory Lyons; her grandsons, Jacob Lyons (Veronica) and Paul Lyons; and her siblings, Lyn Adams and Dick Downing. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 18th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the George Renner & Sons Funeral Home (120 N Illinois St, Belleville, IL 62220). The military honors will be held on Sunday, October 18th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
