With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Matthew Riester of Belleville, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 30, 2026 at the age of 67. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Jerry Lomas Riester and Reta Wilhelm (Fredrick). He is survived by: his wife Becky Riester; his brothers, Mark Riester (Angie), Aaron Riester (Jami) and Toby Riester (Monya); his nieces and nephews, Joshua, Cory, Michael, Lizzie and Amanda; his cousin Dale Becker; and his pets, Claude, Chauncey and Purcey.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Belleville Area Humane Society.
