We bid farewell to Myrtle Lorenia West (Belleville, Illinois), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on July 25, 2025 at the age of 101. Myrtle Lorenia touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence N. Hamby and Anna K. Hamby; her husband Milburn J. West; and her siblings, Paul G. (Dorothy), Thomas H. Hamby (Nancy), Dr. William M. (Margaret), Sally P. Wagner (Tom) and Joan K. Hamby.
She is survived by: her sister Doris Jane Cueva of Ohio; and her sons, Clarence "Joel" West (Deborah) of Granite City and Gary John West (Joy) of Lake Catatoga, IL. She is also survived by six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Union United Methodist Church (721 E Main St, Belleville, IL 62220). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
Contributions in Myrtle's memory may be made to Union United Methodist Church in Belleville, IL building fund or Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
