With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Nicholas Gehrs of Belleville, Illinois, born in Carlyle, Illinois, who passed away on November 7, 2023 at the age of 87. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Nicholas Gehrs to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his wife Geraldine "Gerry" Gehrs; his son Steve Gehrs; his parents, Nick Gehrs and Veronica Gehrs; and his siblings, Imogene Calcaterra-LePique, Bob and John Gehrs.

He is survived by: his sons, Nick Gehrs (Joan) of St. Charles, MO, Mark Gehrs (Heidi) of Millstadt, IL and Tim Gehrs (Peggy) of Millstadt, IL; his grandchildren, Lucas Gehrs, Jacob Gehrs (Melissa), Phillip Gehrs, Leah Gehrs, Gretchen Jung (TJ), Clare Bahlinger (Jack), Kate Gehrs, Charlie Gehrs and Lydia Gehrs; his great grandchildren, Ella, Greta, Margo Gehrs and Louie Bahlinger; and his brothers, Jim, Tom, Whitey and Bill Gehrs. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Althoff Catholic High School, or St. Mary's Parish, or the Alzheimer's Association.
