He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph E. June and Esther June. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Sims; his son Brian Sims (Gina); his brother Sam Sims (Jackie); his grandson Dylan Sims Caden Sims; his stepgrandson Evan McFarland (Madison); and his niece Amanda Brooks.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Kurrus Funeral Home (1773 Frank Scott Pkwy W, Belleville, IL 62223). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A procession was held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 at 12:45 PM at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
