It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Hicks of Belleville, Illinois, who passed away on November 8, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Richard Hicks to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy W. Hicks and Velma Hicks (Brown); his wife Patricia P. Swinney; his siblings, Tom Hicks (Mary), Amy Wasson (Larry), Ellen and Audrey Dangos (Michael); and his in-laws, Maxine Pruitt (Joe), Margie Kueneke (Bill), Hazel Heinke (Norman), Louella Sarmiento (Joe), Jim Swinney (Dorothy) and David Swinney.

He is survived by: his children, Michelle Moore (Scott) of Edwardsville, IL and David Hicks (Michelle) of Sorrento, FL; his grandchildren, Meghan Duncan (Brett), Mallory Studebaker (Andy), Mackenzie Hasamear (Josh), Weston Hicks and Anna Hicks; his great grandchildren, Audrey, Eleanor, Catherine Duncan, Reagan, Maren, Joseph, Levi Studebaker, Isla, Drew and Shepherd Hasamear; and his sister Millie Ligon (John). He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Matthew Church or Hospice of Southern Illinois.
