He was predeceased by: his parents, John J. Smith and Juanita M. Coffey Smith. He is survived by: his wife Rosemary Summers; his children, Jennifer Smith of Belleville and Robert D. Smith, Jr. (Antoinette) of St. Louis; his grandson Cole Smith of St. Louis; and his siblings, Pamela Racila of Springfield and John D. Smith (Angela) of Burgaw, NC. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
