It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert G. Heil of Belleville, Illinois, who passed away on February 28, 2024, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Robert G. Heil to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Robert George (Bob) and LaVerna Heil (Bills). He is survived by : his wife Sarah Heil (Benton) of Belleville, IL; his sister Barbara Schneidewind (Bob); his former life partner Judy Mortensen Heil; and his grandchildren, Jonathan, Cate, Lizzie, Charlie, Alex, Luke and Julian.

His final act was one of service to others, donating his body to Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Shriners Children's St. Louis or the ARRL's (American Radio Relay League) Education & Technology Fund, benefiting the ARRL's education initiatives in schools.
